Song of the Sun
Song of the Sun — Cobalt Blue Glass Bottle
A reusable cobalt blue glass bottle featuring John Stuart Reid’s original Song of the Sun CymaGlyph. Combining acoustic research, detailed craftsmanship, and solar-inspired geometry, the design brings light, sound, and water into everyday hydration.
Features at a Glance
-
Deep cobalt blue glass: Intended to filter ambient light while allowing selected wavelengths of sunlight to pass through.
-
Precision sandblasted design: Reproduces the fine lines, curves, and magnetic-field details of Reid’s original CymaGlyph. See the carousel for a close-up.
-
28 linked antinodes: A distinctive crown representing the solar acoustic pattern described in the original design.
-
Solar-inspired wellbeing: Created around the idea that solar rhythms and water can support physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual balance.
-
Independent research support: A portion of proceeds funds John Stuart Reid’s ongoing, self-funded acoustic research.
The Story Behind the Design
The research — John Stuart Reid
The Song of the Sun CymaGlyph was created using Reid’s CymaScope and solar acoustic data from the NASA/ESA SOHO mission. It visualizes solar vibrations through a physical process rather than a freely drawn artistic interpretation. The original description links its 28 antinodes to acoustic “sound bubbles” within the Sun.
The vision — Carrie Bennett
Working directly with Reid, Carrie Bennett envisioned bringing this geometry beyond the laboratory and into daily hydration, inspired by their shared interest in the body’s biological environment.
The craftsmanship — Kayden Radhe
Kayden Radhe, founder of Blue Bottle Love, translated the intricate CymaGlyph onto cobalt blue glass. The sandblasting preserves the original design’s delicate lines, magnetic-field details, and curves.
The Ideas Behind Light, Sound, and Water
The design draws on the Sun’s sonic activity and the relationship between sunlight and water, two of the essential ingredients for life. The underlying concept is based on research by Stanford University, which employed the SOHO spacecraft to listen to the Song of the Sun: Bubbles of sound in the Sun’s convection zone modulate sunlight at extremely low frequencies and when sunlight reaches Earth and passes through cobalt blue glass via the etched geometry, the frequencies interact with the water.
The CymaScope Foundation’s prof. John Stuart Reid, collaborated with Prof. Roumiana Tsenkova of Kobe University in 2025 and showed that water retains the memory of sonic frequencies, a study that is to be published in 2027. This is the inspiration for the Blue Bottle Love “Song of the Sun” project, in which Stanford University’s sound file was made visible by CymaScope instrument as a complex CymaGlyph, masterfully etched onto the cobalt blue glass.
An Intention for Daily Hydration
The bottle was developed around four intentions:
-
Physical: Hydration and cellular vitality, drawing on the concept of structured water as an “elemental battery.”
-
Emotional: A calming routine associated with grounding and emotional balance.
-
Mental: A moment of stillness, focus, and clarity.
-
Spiritual: A connection with sunlight, nature, and gratitude, expressed through the 28-antinode design.
These intentions reflect the creators’ philosophy that water responds to its surroundings. Claims that the bottle improves cellular light absorption, reduces anxiety, clears “stagnant energy” from tap water, or produces vibrational healing have not been established for this product. Likewise, describing water as conscious is a philosophical interpretation.
